Die erste Ausstellung der Annemarie Verna Galerie fand im April 1969 statt. 1971 war das Jahr, in dem wir erstmals an der Kunstmesse Art Basel teilnahmen. In der Folge waren wir in jedem weiteren Jahr mit unserem Ausstellungsstand in Basel präsent.

Diese Verbindung der Geschichte unserer Galerie mit der Geschichte der Art Basel ist für uns von grosser Bedeutung. Ohne Zweifel haben wir ein eigenes und klares Ausstellungskonzept entwickelt, das immer neue und besondere Akzente ermöglicht. Die wichtigste Gruppenausstellung des Jahres findet also in Basel statt und es ist uns ein grosses Anliegen, jedes Werk in angemessener Weise zu zeigen und in einen Gesamtzusammenhang einzufügen.

2017 zeigen wir als Schwerpunkt eine Ausstellung in unserer Ausstellung. Es ist dies eine Werkgruppe von Richard Tuttle (1941*), entstanden im Jahr 2015. Sie besteht aus dreizehn Arbeiten und trägt die Bezeichnung ,Formal Alphabet A-M’. Diese brillanten Werke nehmen Aspekte auf, die seine frühen Arbeiten kennzeichnen. Wir denken an das ‚Alphabet’ im Besitz des Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Von James Bishop, der in diesem Jahr seinen neunzigsten Geburtstag begeht, werden wir ein grossformatiges Bild von 1969 zeigen, sowie Malereien auf Papier.

Weitere wichtige Werke von Antonio Calderara, Joseph Egan, Giorgio Griffa,
Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Fred Sandback und Jerry Zeniuk, sowie von weiteren Künstlern der Galerie ergänzen unsere Schau.
