Hall 2.0 Booth B4
Our gallery work and exhibition activities first commenced in the spring of 1969. Over the years, we have published catalogues along with more extensive publications on artists represented by the gallery. We also have supported and enabled relevant publications by institutions and publishing houses.
In 2018 the Munich-based Sieveking Verlag is issuing a carefully designed and printed book on the paintings on paper by James Bishop (*1927). The book was edited by Dr. Michael Semff and Gianfranco Verna.
Since 1976 the gallery has accompanied the work of this great painter, who is now over ninety years old. It is therefore fitting that a selection of works by James Bishop occupies a place of honor in our presentation this year.
Our exhibition features a larger group of important drawings by Fred Sandback (1945 – 2003) that have never before been shown. A steel sculpture from 1968 perfectly complements this group of works. In 1971, the work of the young Fred Sandback had its inaugural showing in our gallery premises.
In addition, we will be presenting rare early works by Robert Mangold, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Richard Tuttle and Jerry Zeniuk as well as a number of new pieces by these artists.
We are pleased to draw attention to an exhibition in our gallery, which is especially worth seeing: we have put together a show of selected works that represent the artistic profile of the gallery. A room with paintings by Robert Mangold from various phases of his artistic career provides a particular focal point.
